UK attempting to diminish aggressive online gambling ads

The United Kingdom has been quite successful as of late when it comes to regulating the online gambling industry. There are a number of safeguards that allow people to play online roulette, poker, craps or slots on their favorite sites without worrying. However, now another issue has developed.

According to Online-Casinos.com, people are upset about the advertising methods used by some online gambling destinations, as many are being publicized quite often.

Prime Minister David Cameron explained that the issue is “a question of responsibility by the companies concerned. Anyone who enjoys watching a football match will see quite aggressive advertisements on the television, and I think companies have to ask themselves whether they are behaving responsibly when they do that.”

Cameron adds that the quality of the ads are as much of a problem as the quantity, and he wants to protect children and those who are vulnerable such as those in debt from this kind of activity. He thinks that the excessive amount of ads puts them at risk.

Do you think that advertisers should tone down their ads? Do you agree with Cameron’s views?
