Most analysts agree that the next big step for the online gambling industry is mobile gaming, and many of the world’s largest igaming companies aren’t sitting on their hands to wait for the trend to catch on. Industry leader Playtech has recently announced the launch of a new series of online casino games that will be available through Italian gaming giant Buongiorno’s mobile platform, WINGA.
The games, which include online roulette, blackjack and jacks or better, will function on either iPhone or Android operating systems and can be played for no stakes in fun mode, or for hard cash in real money mode.
Buongiorno is in a strong position to launch the games as well, as the company provides a number of services to more than 130 telecom operators in more than 57 countries across the globe.
Daniel Orkan, Playtech’s head of mobile gaming, claims the partnership is a natural fit and will allow Italian gamers unfettered access to online gambling wherever they go.
"This is a significant step for Playtech in the Italian market and in our ongoing partnership with Buongiorno, which will see the delivery of more innovative products as the year progresses," he told the press. "We are excited to offer mobile casino games to Italian players, which will be joined by the launch of online casino later in the year, in line with our strong cross-platform capabilities."
