The online gambling industry is continually changing. It is not about what new online roulette, poker or slots games are available, but more regarding the status of online gambling in each country. There have been some recent developments in Spain, Belgium and Portugal, which are both positive and negative for the industry.
A Spanish land-based gambling group has been diligently fighting against online gambling, and is targeting big companies such as PokerStars. As a result, the group was asking for a payment for the taxation through an injunction. However, the companies would not pay.
Belgium has finally developed regulations for its online gambling industry. However, lawmakers are now looking to get all of the unlicensed gaming destinations out of the market. In Portugal, there are discussions underway that will legalize online gambling, and it is rumored to be occurring very soon.
What do you think will be the future for online gambling in these three countries? Which one do you think has the highest chance of developing a working plan first?
