Online gambling is certainly a popular activity in the UK, and recent statistics prove just how true that statement is. According to The Telegraph the gambling group 888 reported a strong showing in the second quarter this year, with a substantial rise in revenue.
The report showed growth in all areas, including online roulette, but it was online poker that led the way for the group. Specifically, the game enjoyed 58 percent jump to £8m (about $13 million).
The boost in revenue is not surprising, the news source reports, given that there has been a rise in casino customers as well. Compared to last year, there has been a rise of 342,000 players and were 9.6 million registered accounts as of June 30.
"The business is turning a corner and moving in the right direction," analyst Nick Batram told the news provider.
The trend seems to be holding strong in other areas as well. For instance, Global Live Casino, one of the most popular in the world, is looking to build on its appeal by unveiling a new, sleeker design.
