There’s no denying that the online gambling industry has been growing exponentially in recent years, as punters from across the globe scour the internet to get their fix of online roulette, poker, blackjack and more. Yet new research from the Online Gambling Global Outlook is revealing that growth may be greater than had been previously assumed.
The report is claiming that 10 percent of all time spent online is spent at an online casino, card room or other gambling establishment. These figures were taken from data collected over the course of 2010, and analysts believe that the numbers will continue to grow over the coming years.
According to the Casino Times, the driving force behind this growth is the glut of new gaming technologies that have cropped up in recent years, as well as the growing availability on high speed internet throughout the world.
Mobile gaming is also expected to be a force in the coming years, as more and more casinos are developing gaming apps and platforms capable of working on modern smartphones, and allowing punters to get a few spins of online roulette while they are on the go.
