Nevada optimistic about online gambling, D.C. less so

In previous years, land-based casinos in the United States were strongly opposed to the prospect of online gambling. However, more recently some of the leading intuitions have softened their stance, most notably Caesars Entertainment group.

According to casinoscamreport.com, the popular company has already started to take steps to welcome the coming of the online casinos to the U.S. Among the most substantial moves it has made is opening its own online poker website that, while operational, is just awaiting permission to allow American players access.

Nevada legislators are also doing to their part to support legalizing online gambling, including hosting a workshop for the media on the proposed rules and laws. The steps seem to back up what Caesars CEO Gary Loveman recently said that "it’s no longer a question of if, but when" online gambling comes to the states, the website reports.

While lawmakers may be moving forward in Nevada, the process is somewhat stalled in Washington, D.C. where a council has called into question the proposed contract that would launch online poker, DCist.com reports.
