The online gambling industry has increased in popularity in recent years, and it was recently announced that women in the U.K. are four times as likely to participate than they were in 2007.
The Bellerock Entertainment online casino review drew up the report showing that almost half of the online casino players in the U.K. are women, which is radically different just five years ago. It is suspected that because women could play their favorite casino games online, it increased its popularity.
This report comes soon after one published by Women at NBCU, which shows women are becoming more tech-savvy than men.
"Three-quarters of the female population is online and their increasingly passionate and widespread consumption of digital is shaping this ever-evolving space," said Melissa Lavigne-Delville of Women at NBCU. "As this growing number of digitally-dependent women alters the landscape in unexpected ways, marketers need to react in real-time."
Some casinos are in fact targeting female players. Grande Vegas is running a Facebook contest in honor of the Academy Awards this Sunday night. Throughout the entire week, players will be able to take advantage of some spectacular bonuses that amount to $900 including getting 50 percent cash back bonus if the person picks the right Best Picture winner. They can do so through Facebook along with playing some of favorite casino games including online roulette, blackjack and poker.
"We can only guess which Hollywood stars will be winners, but we know we’ll have lots of Oscar winners right here at Grande Vegas," said casino manager Oliver Smith.
This isn't the only promotion that this particular online casino has aimed at women. During Valentine's Day, it also has a slew of promotions in which a great deal of players took part in.
"We had a lot of fun and positive feedback with our Valentine’s contest on Facebook and I think our players are going to enjoy this one even more!" said Smith.
Do you think that women are more apt to play online casino games than ever before? Do you think that women are more likely to participate in these various bonus promotions?
