Washington D.C. remains divided when it comes to starting online gambling sites. City officials have not determined when or how they will set up the first government-run online gambling venture – or even if they will, according to The Associated Press.
D.C. expected to start an online lottery site before they move on to poker and other games. The news source reports that the regulations will appeal to recreational players and not professional gamblers, something they want to stay away from.
A number of states are attempting to work in online roulette, poker, slots, blackjack and other casino classics into their legal system. Thus far, only Nevada and Washington D.C. have successfully put it into a bill, the media outlet reports. However, it is still uncertain where both states will take online gambling.
